Our Story
A Place Built for Stillness
The story of Getaway Hideaway — and the land that started it all.
How It Began
Getaway Hideaway started with a simple question: what if there was a place in Alabama where you could truly disappear for a few days?
We found our answer on a quiet stretch of wooded land outside Triana — a place where the light comes through the canopy in long golden shafts and the only sounds are the creek and the wind.
We built slowly, carefully, and with deep respect for the land. Every structure is designed to sit lightly on the earth and to give guests the feeling that they've stepped out of time.
The Land
Our property sits on several acres of mixed hardwood and pine forest in Triana, Alabama — just minutes from the Tennessee River and the natural beauty of the Tennessee Valley.
The land is home to white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and more bird species than we've been able to count. In spring, the wildflowers come up through the leaf litter. In fall, the canopy turns amber and gold.
We've kept the footprint small on purpose. The trails are unpaved. The lighting is low and warm. The quiet is real.
Slow Down
We design every detail to help you decelerate — from the hidden seating areas, to our fire pits.
Leave It Better
We're committed to low-impact hospitality. Solar power, composting, and native plantings are part of how we operate.
Real Rest
Not a resort. Not a hotel. A hideaway — built for the kind of rest that actually restores you.
